Zua zua sits quietly on Iturgitxi Kalea in Plentzia, blending the relaxed vibe of a local bar with touches of Basque culinary tradition. It’s the kind of spot where you might drop in for a casual drink after a walk along the beach or settle in with friends for an informal meal of pintxos and small plates.

Perfect for those who appreciate simple Basque cooking in a setting that feels more like a neighborhood gathering spot than a tourist destination.

In the realm of gastronomy, there are few things more satisfying than stumbling upon a hidden gem. And that's exactly what I found in the unassuming Basque bar by the Beach. Nestled away from the bustling city streets, this quaint eatery delivers a truly memorable culinary experience, reminiscent of the vibrant flavors and unique character of the Basque region. As I entered the shop, a charming aroma of freshly baked bread and sizzling meats enveloped the air, instantly whetting my appetite. The menu boasted an array of tantalizing options, but my curiosity led me straight to their chicken sandwich a tortilla de patata and a spicy tuna sandwich, rumored to be a limited delight. The moment I sunk my teeth into the tender, juicy chicken, I knew I had stumbled upon something special. The pintxo practically melted in my mouth, its flavors perfectly balanced with just the right amount of seasoning. It was evident that every ingredient had been carefully selected, reflecting the dedication of the talented chefs behind this creation. However, I must admit, the seemingly limited supply of this particular sandwich left me yearning for more. It only added to its mystique, further cementing its status as a coveted delicacy. Beyond the exquisite chicken sandwich, the pintxo bar also offers a delightful selection of Tortilla de Patatas, a quintessential Basque dish. The variations were diverse, each displaying a culinary prowess that pays homage to tradition while embracing innovation. From the classic rendition with creamy potatoes and caramelized onions to the daring combinations with bacon or alioli, every bite revealed a harmonious blend of flavors, testament to the chef's mastery of their craft. One cannot overlook the ambiance close to the Beach. With its rustic decor, wooden accents, and the salty breeze wafting through the open patio, it transports you to a coastal paradise. Whether you choose to sit indoors, soaking in the lively atmosphere, or grab a picnic table outside to enjoy the stunning ocean air, every moment spent in this culinary haven is an escape from the mundane. But what truly sets this place apart is the genuine passion and warmth exuded by the staff. Their knowledge and enthusiasm for Basque cuisine are infectious, making the experience all the more enriching. They are more than happy to guide you through the menu, sharing anecdotes and stories that bring the dishes to life. Such dedication to both food and customer satisfaction is a rare find indeed. I must implore you to venture off the beaten path and explore the this humble cove by the Beach. Let its flavors transport you to the rolling hills of Basque Country, while the waves crash in the distance. Savor and allow yourself to be captivated by the diverse selection of Tortilla de Patatas. This hidden gem is a testament to the enduring power of culinary exploration, and it is sure to leave an indelible mark on your culinary journey.
